Treatment Approach

I offer evidence-based practices and interventions to clients that are backed up by research. Our sessions will include a strong focus on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness based practices. Individuals in my practice tend to experience the most success who are committed to working outside of our sessions by practicing new skills and collecting information during their day-to-day lives. I often ask my clients to imagine themselves as detectives, using self-reflection and observation to gather data during the week about thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I work with individuals to set goals, create treatment plans and evaluate progress.

While I do offer long-term treatment, most of my clients focus on setting time limited treatment goals with the plan to re-evaluate progress after 8-12 weeks. After an initial evaluation, I develop a treatment plan that blends several research-based therapeutic techniques to concretely and empathically address your struggles. The course of treatment is fluid, evolving to meet your needs as they shift.
